Company Spotlight - Laura Gulyas of HerbaLife

I am an Herbalife Distributor which I have been doing for almost 5 years now. Having a business as an Herbalife Distributor is unique in that you talk to each customer individually, talk about each product and what it will do for them, and then follow up regularly. So the person is getting great products as well as personalized service. Because of this you build a relationship with your customers, who sometimes become good friends. I think the best thing I like about Herbalife is how the products have changed peoples' lives. Watching a persons health improve, having more energy and enjoying a better quality of life is extremely rewarding.

Author Showcase: Doug Boren

Beyond The Horizons, a historical epic set in the west in the time period during and just after the Civil War, is Doug Boren's 1st published novel, but it certainly won't be his last. This is a story of war, yes. And it's a story of the events that helped shape America into the country it is today. Yet, so much deeper than that, Beyond The Horizons is about human interaction. Doug is a talented wordsmith, and for me it was his thoughtful humanity that showed through the lines and took his inherent writing ability to a more intense, important level. His stories are felt rather than read and, in my opinion, that's what transforms a writer into a storyteller.

Doug was nice enough to let me prod a little, and he answered my questions without hesitation.

Moving? Don't Leave Your Mind Behind, © Ian White

Moving to a new home is exciting, but let's face it, it can also get very stressful. The worse mistake someone can make when a move is over the horizon is to procrastinate. Do yourself and your family a favour, plan and start preparing for your move at least a month in advance. It will save you undue stress, and it will make moving to your new home a more enjoyable experience.

THIS WEEK'S THEMATIC SELECTION

Editor's Note:
This Week's Theme: "What is Mysticism? How Can It Work For You?"

Intuition, © P.C. Simon

"I believe in intuition and inspiration. Imagination is a real factor in scientific research. It is more important than knowledge."
Einstein

In almost every scientific problem which I have succeeded in solving, even after those that have taken days or months of work, the final solution has come to my mind in a fraction of a second by a process which is not consciously one of reason."
Lanmuir

It is the common perception that scientific discoveries are the result of keen observation, concerted effort, hard work, persistence and deduction, using information collected by experimentation or by gathering bits and pieces of information from the works of various scientists, putting these fragments together, and arriving at a theory or hypothesis.

The Long Goodbye that Comes to Soon, © Myriam Maytorena, M.Ed.

As an end-of-life caregiver, you are playing a waiting game. You are waiting on death but you also fear its arrival. It may seem that the days and hours seem to just go on and on and there is no end in sight for your suffering or for the suffering of your beloved charge. As we live our lives and finally come to the stage where we are placed into the role of caregiver by circumstances that are normal, we feel like our lives have moved too quickly. Where is the mother or father that you used to turn to for comfort and advice? They are gone and before you is a bed ridden old person that sometimes may appear to be totally out of his or her mind because of diminished capacity or illness. Sometimes it makes you wonder why humans choose to love when leaving can bring such pain.

Make Your Home's Style Unique With Mix and Match Decor, © Kathy Burns-Millyard

You see it all the time in retail discount stores: Color coordinated decor for just about anywhere in your home. And some of the designs are quite pretty. In fact, some people become obsessed by them. They're usually really cute, come in a variety of colors, shades, patterns and designs, and they just plain make decorating easy. There's no guesswork - everything is matched for you automatically. But there's also no unique style. No sense of "you" in the finished style. If you mix and match styles up a bit though, you'll end up creating something that's just right for you, your home, and your style preferences. Here are a few tips on doing that.

ALL ABOUT THE BUSINESS

Be True To Your "Product", © Linda Alexander

The power of dreams. . . .

Sometimes dreams make no sense. They're a mishmash of crazy scenes. Sometimes they're entertaining; sometimes they're frightening. Not often are they truly inspiring, or even prophetic. There are some, though, that make the dreamer wonder if there wasn't something very real behind it.

Want More Success? Be Lazy!, © Kerul Kassel

Hard to imagine, but I've discovered that I have to be ambitious about being "lazy." As a professional coach, I work with high-achieving professionals, executives, and entrepreneurs, and I'm no slouch myself. If you're like me, and most of my clients, you take pride in the number of tasks and projects you can juggle, and the sheer number of initiatives you're involved in on a given day.
